StartBackpacking.comStartBackpacking.com has been a great resource for people just entering the backpacking/traveling lifestyle. It was recently redesigned and looks great.

There really isn’t a better site for an all-in-one information site. You can find everything from tips on how to avoid insects bites to counting in Chinese. The articles are very well written too.

There are plenty of travel sites on the internet, but very few with forums, and even less with DECENT forums. StartBackpacking.com has great forums. It gets traffic AND its easy to navigate (I can’t say the same for Lonely Planet’s).

If you’re a new backpacker, be sure to check out the Backpacking Guide. A great 10 step outline of things you should consider before taking off on your travels.

Our famous backpacking guide has been helping people get on the road since 2007. It is not as expensive or as difficult as people think, and no matter what your age its never too late to start vagabonding. You aren’t alone. Loads of people know that waking up and making rich old men richer is not the way to live.

It doesn’t get any simpler than this, so use this backpacking guide to get out of the rat race, escape the cubicle, and get into the wild!

Frommers? Lonely Planet? Something else?

I really like Lonely Planet’s books myself. I find a lot of them are plenty expensive though. eBay works for that!

Well, NOPE! Sure, I’m gonna be posting about cool travel stuff and what not, but I’ve got some really cool projects in the works that are going to be launched within the next week or two, if not sooner.

The Global Scavenger HuntOne thing I wanted to post about shortly is the Global Scavenger Hunt. It is basically an inbetween of The Amazing Race and Competitours. It’s hellishly more competitive and challenging than Competitours, but less so than The Amazing Race, to my knowledge. The grand prize for The Global Scavenger hunt is earning the title of The World’s Greatest Travelers. Pretty awesome.

When our three week event begins April 17th, our traveling competitors will be doing challenging cultural scavenges in at least 10 countries across four continents…which countries and which continents we’re not saying as our event is also known as A Blind Date With the World™. We will however be crowning The World’s Greatest Travelers™ on May 9th!

I think I would like to compete in The Global Scavenger Hunt after I do a Competitours. Maybe move on to applying for The Amazing Race after that :D
