Alex and I had another fun day on the trip.  We are in Amsterdam and since we have been to Amsterdam as a family before, we took the time to take in some of the things around Amsterdam.  We explored an exhibit called Corpus which is an interactive theme park explanation about the body.  Somewhat interesting,  we’d give it a B-.  Favorite part was the sculpture on the outside of the building!  Some cool things inside.

Then off for some Holland history and culture about Windmills, Cheese and Clogs.  Checked out a cool artspace, howeer it was being redone!

Then the Troppen Museum with amazing exhibits from indonesia, Africa, South America and a really cool exhibit from Haiti on Voo Doo.

The highlight of the day was the Bols Distillery experience.  Really well done, great exhibits, friendly staff and a great sensory experience trying to identify 36 different scents.

You can watch a bad video of me in the Bartending Flair video room…….here .

Alex and I both had fun talking to the bartenders and having them mix up our favorite drinks.  We sampled a few other of their beverages and between the fact that we are both lightweights in the alcohol department and hadn’t eaten much today, we were both a little bit buzzed!  Alex says this was definitely a first for him!

We had an Indonesian dinner that was very tasty.

As seems to be our custom, Alex is crashed out now (I was last night) and I’m finishing up the housekeeping on our day!

Today was great fun and tomorrow we are off to Brussels!  Tomorrow evening we will be someplace else!  We just don’t know where yet!

Tomorrow’s theme could be french fries, beer and chocolate!

Amsterdam… Oh Yeah

We are rocking Amsterdam today.

We started off with the tip about the free ferry to NDSM and found the nicest guy to give us the layout of the land to help us with our tasks. Without him, we were lost. And we suspect that if other teams head out there, they will be “gone with the wind”.

After the ferry back to Centraal we walked over to the Science Museum, NEMO, and then the Architecture Museum (ARCAM), where we got a sneak preview due to an open/unlocked door.

Geo and I then took the tram up to the Ann Frank Huis for a quick tour and video taped our reaction to the horros of WWII (again).

After rocking out to those 3 High point tasks, we’re doing a little uploading, drinking some local bevvies, and eating at De Raedt- home of the best Tomato Soup in Amsterdam (Thanks Becca)!

Now, it’s off to see 15 bridges- wish us luck.

Interesting grouping, don’t you think? Yup, we’re in Amsterdam, and actually much more rested than the ‘blur’ that was yesterday in Cologne (Koln). So, we set out today to capture all that we can……later!     Ally (Almita)

…we also like Amstel should that provide itself available in Heineken’s place.
